Are you a student trying to decide on your major? Perhaps you want to switch your major, or maybe, you are just interested in design. If any of the above (or any permutation or combination of them) is correct, you have come to the perfect place buddy. Design is a field that is still largely unexplored, especially in India. There are also several myths and stereotypes attached to design and to those who want to pursue it. No, design does not mean just making clothes. There are various fields of design: Product Design, Communication Design, UI/UX Design, Fashion Design, to name a few. Each of these fields has its unique features. Another misconception about design is that you have to be able to rival Picasso in your art skills if you are to be a designer. So not true! To break it down as simply as possible, design refers to the process of solving problems creatively.​Skills are something that is acquired over time and not a prerequisite to being a designer. Design is also thought of as this obscure, abstract thing that only your rich distant cousin can comprehend. Contrary to popular belief, however, design is everywhere. Don’t believe it? Have you ever seen a spider’s web? Spiders make their webs using a protein-like substance. This delicate web with the most intricate of patterns helps the spiders entrap their prey as well as their predators. That is design! The web is not just visually appealing to look at, but also durable and effective.​If you have been considering getting into the field of design and do not know where to even begin, Designex is the answer to your prayers. It can be very daunting to pursue your career in a field that you do not have much information about. The information that IS there is well, mostly antiquated and generic. At Designex, we seek to cater to the unique needs of every single student. Who says that learning has to be boring? Design is something that allows you to get out of your comfort zone, to explore (now the posts make sense, don’t they?)Our programs make learning design accessible to every single student, no matter their background. We aim to provide students with a holistic learning environment that nurtures their minds while appealing to their hearts. Our approach to design is one that is organic. We firmly believe that there are no rights or wrongs when it comes to design. Design is as unique to each person as, let us say, their breathing pattern. Okay, maybe that is a little dramatic but every single individual has their own definition of design.​To accommodate thought processes that are so vast, we have an equally wide range of teaching methods at Designex. We work on improving the observational skills of the students, which in turn helps them be aware of their surroundings. Being aware of their surroundings means that students are able to identify problems in said surroundings, problems that require solving. Students are then equipped with the ability, but more importantly, the right kind of attitude to tackle these problems and to arrive at a solution analytically.Doing something different than the rest of your friends can be scary. However, it is also very exciting. If this is something that intrigued you in the slightest, you do NOT want to miss​what comes next. The Mission of Designex is to Inform, Counsel, and Mentor design aspirants to achieve Designex’s Vision, that is, to make design mentorship Affordable and Accessible to anyone and everyone. Designex aims to make aspirants capable enough on their own so that they form the right attitude and temperament.

Designex aims to make quality design mentorship Accessible and Affordable to every person who dreams of having a career in the field. The Vision of Designex is to provide effective mentorship to all design aspirants, irrespective of their background.​Design mentorship is usually seen as a luxury, something that well-off students can pursue. However, this is untrue. Design is for anyone that dreams of changing the world creatively. Design is for anyone who wants to think outside of the box, differently than what they have been taught to think their entire life. Design is for anyone who wants to challenge the norms that society has in place. Design is for anyone who wants to let down barriers. Design is for anyone who dares to dream even they are told not to. Design is for me and design is for you.​At Designex, there are no restrictions. The only criteria are willingness – to hone your skills, to put in the time and effort needed to perfect your craft, to be able to take constructive criticism in stride, and always strive to do better. Your background, your history, nothing else matters if you are dedicated to learning to the best of your abilities.Design mentorship has traditionally been very static, especially in India. But how can one learn something as dynamic as design, statically? The needs and trends in the field of design are constantly evolving. What’s avant-garde today will be obsolete tomorrow. Designex aims to prepare aspirants to be able to tackle this dynamic nature of design. We want to do things differently. At Designex, we offer a wide range of design mentorship programs so that every student gets the opportunity to do what their heart truly desires.​We are always approachable, and dedicated to the betterment of the aspirants, inside and outside of the classroom.
